Quick Hair Tips

  1. Section the hair in 4 or 5 parts. Work on one section at a time (gently!)
  2. Remember, your hair is fragile. Handle gently and resist the urge to pull or tug.
  3. Use the True Chic, Naturally wide tooth comb to comb hair from the end to the roots. The rounded edges of the teeth are gentle to the hair.
  4. Massage the scalp 2-3 minutes daily to stimulate the hair follicles.
  5. Moisturize the hair, as necessary. Spray or spritz hair with water before applying hair cream. This will lock in the moisture,
  6. Dry your hair with a microfiber towel. It absorbs much faster than a bath towel & doesn't require rubbing or patting the hair.  Some people use T-shirts also.
  7. Apply True Chic, Naturally hair cream to your ends to prevent split ends and breakage.
  8. Use True Chic, Naturally satin  scarves, pillowcases and bonnets to retain hair moisture, prevent breakage, thinning, and excess friction.
  9. Wear satin scarf or bonnet under your hat or hood in the winter to prevent  hair from rubbing against hat or hood fibers.
  10. Drink plenty of water and maintain a healthy diet.
  11. When you wash your hair, detangle (with wide tooth comb or finger) while conditioner is in the hair and while slowly rinsing it out  to prevent friction and hair loss.
  12. Avoid using concentrated heat in the form of excessive blow-drying.
  13. Wait longer periods before relaxing your hair (called "stretching")
  14. Avoid putting products which contain mineral and petrolatum in your hair and on your scalp. They clog the pores.
  15. If you have both relaxed hair and new growth along the hair strand, keep in mind the weakest part of the hair is the point where the new growth ends and relaxed hair begins. Keep combing to a minimum and primarily on the relaxed hair.
  16. Wear protective styles to avoid exposing the oldest part of your hair (ends).
  17. Teach and train your daughters, and other young women how to work with and  appreciate their hair, in order to establish the foundation for healthy hair and high self-esteem early on!
  18. Encourage them to use True Chic, Naturally hair products so that their hair will experience... True Chic, Naturally!
